Roger Mayweather believe mosley will win.....

MANILA, Philippines – A close fight to be won by "Sugar" Shane Mosley.
This is the opinion of Roger Mayweather, trainer and uncle of undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., regarding the match between Mosley and Filipino pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao on May 7.
"I truly believe Mosley would stop Pacquiao," Roger said in an interview with On the Ropes Boxing Radio.
"But under the circumstances under what they’re talking about, the fight is still going to be close," he added.
Pacquiao will clash with Mosley in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Amid reports that Mosley will be "getting some good money for the fight," Roger believes the American will still not let Pacquiao humble him.
"He [Mosley] ain’t going to lay down," the trainer said.
Roger is part of the Mayweather camp sued by Pacquiao back in December 2009.
Pacquiao's camp said Roger, Floyd, Jr., and Floyd Sr. defamed him by accusing him of taking performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). Also named in the charge are Floyd Jr.'s promoters Oscar de la Hoya and Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions. Pacquiao demanded $75,000 in damages.
Pacman and catch weights
Roger also claimed that the reason behind Pacquiao's success is that the Filipino always demands that his opponents fight at catch weights.
“You know what, anytime I see Pacquiao fight somebody, he’s fighting them at a catch weight... He ain’t never fought no dudes who fought at their regular weight class. He fights them dudes at a catch weight. Oh, you can’t weigh this! Oh, you can’t weigh that!" he claimed.
Roger said Pacquiao's catch weight demand took its toll on Antonio Margarito, whom the Filipino outpunched to a lopsided decision last November.
The Pacquiao-Margarito fight, which was for the World Boxing Council (WBC) junior middleweight (154 pounds) title, took place at a 150-pound catch weight.
"Antonio Margarito had been off I don’t know how long. Oh, you know, you can’t weight more than 150. That’s what they say. He fights all them dudes at catch weights," said Roger.
'Floyd, Jr. has to come back'
Meanwhile, Roger also revealed that Floyd, Jr., considered by many to be Pacquiao's closest rival, will be returning to the boxing ring soon.
This, despite the legal troubles faced by the controversial boxer since late 2010, including a complaint for allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend and poking a finger at the face of a security officer.
"I think most of that is pretty much cleared up," he said. "The thing about it is yeah, he has to get back in the ring."
"That’s how you make money and that’s how you further your legacy," Roger added.
Roger also said he, too, anticipates a Pacquiao-Floyd, Jr. match, dubbed as the "Fight of the Century," only if the Filipino champ topples Mosley.
"Hopefully, I don’t know, but hopefully my nephew and Pacquiao will fight. If Shane Mosley beats Pacquiao, then we ain’t even got to worry about that," he said.

Pacquiao will earn almost $20m in mosley fight

By Don Tagala, ABS-CBN North America News Bureau
NEW YORK, New York – Boxing superstar and Sarangani Congressman Manny Pacquiao and "Sugar" Shane Mosley concluded their coast-to-coast US media tour for their world championship fight in May.
“I'm happy to be back here in New York, it's very cold here, because last time I came here summer time, it's hot. This time, it's cold,” said Pacquiao.
“What can I say? I can't wait for May 7 to fight against Manny Pacquiao, who is a great fighter, warrior, and these are the type of fights I love to be in,” said Mosley.
Filipino fans trooped to the Chelsea Piers in New York to cheer for their boxing idol.
Pacquiao is expected to make a killing from his Las Vegas showdown in May.
Team Pacquiao did not specify the exact amount, but Pacquiao's chief of staff Franklin Gacal said it will not be lower than US$15 million.
Of course, this doesn't include Pacquiao's share of pay-per-view (PPV) buys, which could raise his earnings to about $20 million or more, depending on the number of paid showtime subscriptions
Mosley is said to be assured of at least $5 million.
While this may be Pacquiao's biggest match in terms of prize purse, it remains a mismatch.
According to Ryan Songalia, the only Filipino-American member of the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA), Mosley is not as explosive as he was 10 years ago and that Pacquiao could be out of his league.
“I think the reason why Pacquiao is facing Mosley is because it's a beautiful fight. He knows that Mayweather is trying to hold the ball and wait for Pacquiao to get old and get hurt maybe in the fight and then he'll pounce on him…. Pacquiao won't get hurt, he's staying busy, staying in ring, making money while Mayweather sitting in the sidelines waiting for Pacquiao to get old,” said Songalia.
Pacquiao said he is still not discounting the possibility of facing Floyd Mayweather since he is not yet retiring.
“Wala pa naman, pero malapit na, mahirap magsalita ngayon, pero definitely, hindi pa ako magreretire after this fight, hindi na masyadong matagal,” said Pacquiao.
And while he may be busy with all his fight promotions, the boxer-politician claims he has not neglected his constituents in Sarangani province.
“Ok naman at balance naman, at eto, alay ko sa ating mga sambayanang Pilipino, sa ating mga minamahal na mga kababayan. Thank you sa lahat ng supporta at pagdarasal po, maraming salamat,” he said.
Pacquiao didn't forget his spouse duties either.
In the news conference which fell on Valentine's Day, the cameras were all rolling as he gave his wife a special cake.
He announced that the two of them will go on a date in an undisclosed place in New York before heading out to Washington D.C.

Pacman in US Capital

WASHINGTON D.C. – Manny Pacquiao, the world’s greatest boxer, felt right at home the moment he set foot at the nation’s capital Monday evening.
“Welcome to my crib (home),” Pacquiao said as the train that carried him and his group from New York City arrived at the historic Union Station here at around 7 p.m.
Yes, it’s the first time that the fighting congressman from the Philippines set foot in Washington, a place he said he’d only heard of or seen on TV.
Yet, almost everybody knew him.
He was a walking magnet every step of the way, people calling his name, reaching out for his hand, and dying to have an autograph or a picture taken with him.
It’s been the same scene the past five days during the press tour for his May 7 fight with Shane Mosley, with previous stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York.
Pacquiao was too easy to spot even if he was surrounded by people from Top Rank and from the media, who were given special passes, orange wristbands, for the three-hour ride from the Big Apple.
He wore a brown overcoat and a Bruce Lee hairdo, and had his lovely, cheerful wife holding on to him. There were cameras all over the couple who were celebrating Valentine’s Day.
They were to share an intimate dinner with the boxer’s chief adviser, Mike Koncz, and his wife, Racquel, in one fancy restaurant here.
“Manny Pacquiao! Manny Pacquiao! You’re the greatest boxer ever!” said a female fan, probably a Mexican, at the train station that looked like a cathedral from the inside, as she reached out for the boxer’s hand.
“Go Manny! Go knock him out!” hollered a male fan, who looked like an American, even if Pacquiao will soon be up against an American, Shane Mosley.
Among the media outfits that had reps on the great train ride were CNN, New York Times, NY Daily News, the National Public Radio or NPR, Wall Street, Playboy Magazine, The Examiner.com, AOL Fanhouse, Showtime and giant network giant CBS, GMA-7.
Pacquiao did make a lot of heads turn.
“We will have a picture taken with the President,” Pacquiao said as he looked forward to a meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House Tuesday.
Barring any last-minute changes, the highly awaited meeting takes place in the afternoon, after Pacquiao moves around town for a meeting with US Senate Majority Flood Leader Harry Reid.
Reid will take Pacquiao to the Senate floor. Also scheduled is a visit to the offices of USA Today. The weather is freezing here in Washington, with a high of eight, and a low of zero degrees Celsius up for today.
If he gets to meet the President, he becomes only the second Filipino athlete ever to do so at the White House, after legendary golfer Celestino Tugot who came to President Dwight Eisenhower’s office in 1954.
Pacquiao’s official entourage stayed at The Hay-Adams, the elegant hotel which is as close as you can get to the White House. It sits just across the President’s home.
Pacquiao flies back to Los Angeles by sundown Tuesday.
In New York, Pacquiao and Mosley staged a press conference at the Chelsea Pier, and parted ways at around 2 p.m. Pacquiao proceeded to the New York Daily News office for an interview and a quick photo shoot.
The Chelsea Pier gig was opened to the public, making it very difficult for Pacquiao to get out of the building, on to the covered parking lot and to a waiting SUV.
Pacquiao was mobbed on the way out, and was nearly pinned by the crowd against the van parked beside his service SUV. He had to shield his wife from the crowd.
Notes: Fred Sternburg, the Top Rank publicist, opened up the Chelsea Pier press conference with this statement: People, this is a professional media event. No pictures, no autographs with the boxers for the members of the media. Anybody getting caught will be escorted out, and his or her credential taken away. That’s how they do things here.... There are only 230 tickets left for the fight, still two and a half months away, according to Bob Halloran, president of MGM Mirage Inc. When the MGM opened its ticket booths to the public just a couple of weeks ago, 16,000 or the 17,000-plus seats were sold in three hours. On the Internet, tickets with a face value of $1,500 are now being sold for as much as $8,000.... - By Abac Cordero

Legacy or upset.........

Another boxing history will be made this coming May 7, 2011. The fight against future boxing hall of famers Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Shane "Sugar" Mosley. After winning streaks with great boxers,  Manny will  again try to add up to his list of victims or so he thinks....Mosley another future hall of famer will try to stop him from his track. Although Mosley seems to be the underdog of the fight, we will never be able to count him out for we all know that he is of a world champion level. So we will be waiting for this date and see the event made for the classics. The most awaiting event in the year the pacquiao vs. mosley fight.
